Art and painting lessons in a fun, creative
environment for adults and children
Cléo has offered private and group art lessons for both adults and children for 7 years. Her goal is to help each participant divine the message they intend to communicate through their painting, and teach them the classic techniques and skills to express that message as well as how to use the materials and tools necessary.
Adults
Are you a creative person? Have you ever felt something so strongly that you wanted to paint it? Have you ever had an idea that would be best communicated through colour and shape, but you didn’t know how to? Do you feel things passionately but have no outlet in your daily life to express these feelings and let them out? Cool ~ lets do all of that, together.

This series is for those who are at the beginner/intermediary level of painting. In it we will focus on colour theory, gradation techniques, brushes and mediums, finding your light source (determining use of light and shadow), foreground vs. background, divining your paintings message, honouring the ‘fool’ i.e. the beauty of "messing it up", highlighting your central character and figuring out the essence of your personal painting style.

Children

This series is for any kid who is creative, loves art, enjoys describing life in animated ways or just cant stop drawing stickmen/women. Personally, I loved MAKING art as a youth, from finger-painting to crayons to coloured pencils ~ it was my jam. My parents saw that and bought me paints, brushes, mini canvasses and books on the greats from Van Gogh to Monet, as well as ‘how to’ books on painting landscapes and sketching the human form. Though the books i studied and the techniques i emulated were not meant for someone as young as i was then, I soaked it all up and I feel grateful to have had access to so much knowledge during my formative years.
This series will focus on colour theory, light and shadow, foreground vs background, divining your paintings ‘message’, highlighting your central character, appreciating and developing your personal painting style, and most importantly: how to have FUN expressing your thoughts, ideas and feelings with paint.
